Day 13 of the 30 Days of Healthy Habits: Prioritize
Most of us are busy juggling the demands of a job, family, chores and other commitments. It sometimes seems like there are not enough hours in a day. You may feel constantly under pressure to fulfill all these roles, and this can leave you vulnerable to stress.
You can ease the burden of stress by applying proper time management techniques to your daily schedule. This ensures that the time available will be used more efficiently.
The first step is to evaluate how you are spending your time, looking for sections of time that can be used more wisely. The next thing is to prioritize, which ensures that your time and energy are spent on truly important tasks.
As you evaluate, are you finding that too much time is spent on watching television or on social media? Granted, we all need down time, but these activities can be time robbers taking us away from more important tasks.
Schedule a time at the beginning of the week to calendar the things that need to get done this week. Then make a daily list and check it each evening to make sure you are accomplishing the things you set out to do. Remember to schedule in time for exercise!
As you practice your time management skills, you will find that you are not always stressed and that you can find time for those important things you keep putting off...like your health and fitness.
