Wash and Cut Your Vegetables Right Away
DAY 5 of the 30 DAYS OF HEALTHY HABITS:

Have you ever looked in your refrigerator drawers only to find limp and lifeless vegetables?  Try this.  When you get home from the grocery store, wash and cut your vegetables right away, and store them in the refrigerator.  Your vegetables will then be ready to be used in salads, soups, stews and stir-fry recipes.  They also make a great grab-and-go snack.

Here is a simple, natural solution you can use to clean your produce:
  • Prepare a solution using 3 parts water to 1 part vinegar; place it in a spray bottle
  • Spray your fruits and vegetables with this solution
  • Let sit for 5 minutes
  • Rinse thoroughly with water for 30 seconds
or
  • Fill a bowl with 10 parts water to 1 part vinegar
  • Soak your fruits and vegetables for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally and rubbing well where appropriate
  • Rinse thoroughly with water for 30 seconds

Healthy Habit:  Be prepared!  Wash and cut your produce right away after shopping.

Let's all remember to...
EAT WELL - STAY ACTIVE - LIVE HAPPY and enjoy a HEALTHY BODY FOR LIFE!
