Detox With Yoga
A yoga practice which stretches, compresses, and twists every part of your body will help with the removal of waste products that build up in your body.  Yoga twists are especially effective in stimulating digestion and elimination by squeezing the abdominal organs. Let’s learn a basic pose – the Seated Twist.

Seated Twist

  • Sit tall on a mat.  Bend the right leg and place the right foot flat on the mat.
  • Rest your right hand on the floor behind you for support.
  • Rotate your torso to the right and bring your left elbow to the outside of your right knee.
  • Exhale as you gently press your left elbow into your right knee to encourage your torso to twist.
  • Inhale and twist a little more with each exhalation (5 deep breaths).
  • Release then repeat on the other side for 5 deep breaths.
Take a moment right now to try the Seated Twist.
