We have just celebrated Christmas and are looking forward to the New Year. This becomes a time of reflection when we ask ourselves the question, "Have I done the things that I set out to do at the beginning of the year? Ah yes, the New Year's resolutions!
This can sometimes leave us feeling unfulfilled, unhappy, upset and dissatisfied with ourselves.
I propose that we ask ourselves these 4 questions instead.
We may find that we usually judge ourselves from a place of lack rather than from a place of abundance. By answering these 4 questions, we can shift our focus to a more positive frame of mind. I am certain that we can all list many things that we are grateful for, that made us happy, that went well, that gave us a sense of accomplishment.
I challenge all of us to answer these questions this week, so that we can begin the New Year on a positive note.
I feel very blessed with how things went for me this year. On a personal level, we celebrated our 36th wedding anniversary, greeted our 5th grandchild, and visited Thailand and Europe. These all brought joy into my life and filled me with gratitude.
From a health standpoint, I feel great. A few months ago I hired a personal trainer to help me take my training to the next level. I am very grateful for my progress thus far and I am looking forward to kicking it up a notch this coming year.
As an Author and Speaker, I am very grateful for how things have developed. After launching my book late last year, Healthy Body for Life went on to sell about 900 copies worldwide and continues to grow. I have had the pleasure to share my message with several groups of women, and I am grateful that I already have some bookings for the New Year.
As Zig Ziglar states,
"You were designed for accomplishment, engineered for success,
and endowed with the seeds of greatness."
Wishing you every success in the coming year!
